Bobby Rush is going strong at the remarkable age of 89! The two-time GRAMMY winner, Blues Hall of Famer, and 16-time Blues Music Awards recipient has exciting news. His new album, “All My Love For You”, is set to release on August 18 via Deep Rush Records / Thirty Tigers. The album features the autobiographical single “I’m the One”, where Rush shares his storied life – from learning the blues from legends like B.B. King and Muddy Waters after arriving in Chicago in 1952, to being the one who “put the funk in the blues.” 🎶
“I’m the One” is a soulful track that celebrates Rush’s unique blend of blues and funk. He reflects: “I was the first man to put the funk in the blues. I want people to know I am still funky; it’s still the blues, just a modification of the blues.” The album, “All My Love For You”, is now available for pre-order.
This release follows his Chicken Heads 50th Anniversary EP, featuring collaborations with Buddy Guy, Gov’t Mule, and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. Bobby Rush’s musical journey also includes his GRAMMY-winning 2020 album “Rawer Than Raw” and his acclaimed autobiography, “I Ain’t Studdin’ Ya: My American Blues Story”. 📀
Catch Bobby Rush live on tour, including a performance at Central Park SummerStage in New York on June 18 alongside Buddy Guy.
